Merry Christmas!!

Well I did have full intentions of more pics of how my December Daily is going but after a day of just not being able to 'get it together' yesterday followed by a last ditch effort to get the photos processed only to find that the photo machines at Office Works was broken... I surrendered to the fact that it's not going to happen! I have the pics and have done the pages ready for the photos to go in but no photos! ANYWAY... we are off on holidays today and will be back in a week or so and I will share then!

Until then, MERRY CHRISTMAS everyone! May your holidays be full of joy, love and a little bit plenty of indulgence!

xoxo

December Daily..

I ummed and aahed and thought I had way too much on my plate to attempt my first Dec daily but I saw so many awesome ones being put together out there I jumped in and decided to do it.... Here are the first pages.... (lots of pics here - sorry)....

It's not bound together yet - I'll do that at the end (it's going to be gi-normous!). I tried making the album ready to put the pics in but that doesn't work for me because I never know what pics I'm going to take/use per day so I'm making as I go....
I'm up to day 8 (completed) and have kind of partially done the next few pages but I will show those in a few days...... How are your Christmas preparations going? I just LOVE this time of year!

Teachers gifts...

Whipped up these easy little Teachers' Christmas gifts last night for the kids to take to school to say thanks and Merry Christmas! This is only half of them as my little fella has already taken his to daycare!

The flower was made using a 'My Favourite Things' die - oh how I love those dies at the moment! They will definately be featuring on my layouts for a while now cause I can't stop using them!
Have a great day everyone! xoxo

A handmade Christmas....

Hi all....
Well my family and I decided after the craziness of last year that we would have a 'Handmade Christmas' this year.. such a great idea and so personal!
I have been busy working on many projects over the last weeks and I'll share this one today..
Mum and I go to the Brisbane Papercraft show every year (it's OUR thang!) and when she fell in love with a beautiful piece of art by Jane Tragenza, I knew I would have a go at something similar for her for Christmas.  Boy oy boy - harder than I thought and I seriously take my hat off to the VERY TALENTED Jane Tregenza .. her work is just breathtaking and inspiring!

I used Echo Park papers and stickers (Times and Seasons) and various flowers, ribbons and trinkets.

Even though it was a time consuming project, it was LOTS of fun and quite cheap to do ... I bought an old frame (with no glass) from vinnies for about $2 and painted it black. The backing is just a sturdy cardboard painted black also and then a series of squares and rectangles.

Thanks for stopping by!

Dear Santa....

Hi there!
Having lots of fun with layers and textures at the moment!
Made this lo (and one for my daughter which I will share later) to keep their wish-lists to Santa - so cute!

The papers and punchouts were from an old Kaisercraft collection of Christmas papers ... you know the ones you think you'll NEVER use and then all of a sudden feel the need to use?!? I really enjoyed working with the non-traditional Christmas colours!

Our family is having a 'making Christmas' this year so I have been busy creating gifts for everyone... will share them soon! Have a great day!! xoxo

November Stuff2Scrap Challenge...

Happy Friday everyone!
Just a quick post to remind you all that there is a few days left to complete the Stuff2Scrap November challenge... and it's a doozey!

Here's the low-down....
(1) Paint - but wait! No brushes, sponges, etc. Use your creative hands to get paint onto your layout.

(2) Stacked chippie! This is a great way to use up varying sizes of the same design or combine totally different chipboard patterns, pieces and styles to create something new.

(3) Song lyrics - these can either make up your title, your journalling, or just a line on the layout somewhere. Any song you like is fine, from nursery rhymes to your favourite rock anthems!

Here is my Creative Team contribution...

Loads of fun so be sure to pop on over HERE and give it a go this weekend!!

my boy...

After lots of visitors last week and a whole weekend of painting and renovating my little fella's bedroom (I have been meaning to do this for AGES as it still looks like a nursery and he is almost 4!!!) - I took some time out last night for a glass of vino and a scrap... free and easy... no challenges ... just putting it together and seeing what happened... this is how it came out...

I have just realised that I haven't put a title on it it yet - woops! I will add some journalling too... lol!
Have a great week everyone!! xox

Just for fun...

Finished this lo this morning ... it was TOTALLY inspired by a layout I saw on the Shimmerz blog by Mahlin - WOWZERS!! I saw it and just totally fell in love and had to create something similar. You can check it out here  ....

yup - the glitter glue is still wet so looks a little funny - I'm in a rush as we are getting visitors!!

SO PROUD of my girl - first prize in the art comp for the school carnival - first out of all the preps!!

Papers are mostly Echo Park; white frame is MME I think (old); green rolled flower and butterflies are made by me; that gorgeous pin is hand made by my beautiful friend Rachael Funnell and the big pink flower and cherry blossom are from iamroses.
That's it for me for now.... have a GREAT weekend!!! The weather is beautiful here so we are going to make the most of it!! xox

November Stuck Sketches...

Had a little play the other day and completed this lo for the Stuck Sketches November challenge.

Have had some time sitting down the last few days thanks to dropping a pair of gardening shears on my foot.. and yes they hit my foot blade first! My first recommendation would be to wear shoes while gardening and the other important piece of information would be don't hold the secatures in your mouth because it's highly likely you will knock them out and drop them on your (bare) foot! Took about 3 hours for my foot to swell and become infected.... I was shocked at how fast it went festy.  Had to have a tetanus shot and now on antibiotics to clear it up!
ANYWAY ... back to scrapping.....

Papers are... yup... Echo Park again... both pieces of chippy (border and the arrow) are Stuff2Scrap

Rolled flowers and acetate butterflies are handmade by mwa and button is Purple Pumpkin.
Thanks for popping by - have a great day!

November 'Scrap the Girls'

WOWZERS... this DOESN'T happen to me very often but I put this layout together today in under an hour and I'm really happy with how it turned out! I literally picked stuff quickly off my table (that was sitting there from some other projects I'm working on) and presto! Anyway - enough of my babbling.....

The challenge is to use mainly pink, multiple photos and polkadots! You can play along here

Papers are a mix of MME and old Crate Paper and that beautiful big pink flower is handmade by my mate  Rachael Funnell - we did a swap and I was lucky enough to score some!! (the spotty button in the middle is Purple Pumpkin)

That cute little heart is a Stuff2Scrap chippy - painted with pink crackle paint - isn't it sweet!!

Thanks for stopping by!!
