Bird is the Word May Challenge....No.2!

I just love these challenges over at http://www.birdisthewordchallenge.blogspot.com/ ...you have to have the word live/life/living in the title of you layout - mine says 'He loves them more than life itself" (and he does!)  I'm using Lime Twist again..just LOVE these beautiful papers...my favourite MME collection by far! The cute owl is handmade by me from Fimo and the flowers are handmade also...just rolled and twisted vintage book pages (then some vintage photo Distress Ink) - love how they turned out! Thanks for stopping by!

I definately like mine with a twist of lime!!!

Well my super dooper besty sent me a very generous parcel with some very delicious MME Lime Twist and I couldn't wait to get scrappin'!! Kaz and I scrapped via txt last night which was loads of fun!  The pics are a bit fuzzy sorry - I really need to invest in a new camera (and the weather is really overcast which doesn't help!)
Anyway!...here is what I came up with...

These gorgeous pics were taken at Karen's house - the kids had a ball driving little Ashie's motorised car! Hope you like...will have another share tomorrow I hope as we are scrappin' tonight again - can't wait!

Bird is the Word May Challenge....

Hello!!
I had SO much fun creating this layout for the 'Bird is the Word' May challenge -I have been wanting to do one of these challenges for ages! You have to use Sun/Sunshine in your title...
I dug out this delicious Crate Paper collection from ages ago....'Cottage' I think it's called...I was delighted to find a pack of chip pieces hidden in the pack I found too! Doily pieces are from the Chip Chop Shop and the envelope that the photos are in is Maya Road (I changed the colour with distress stain and paint etc). The blue flower and the pink spotty flower and the fabric pink spotty brad are home made. Be sure to go over and check out the challenge! http://birdisthewordchallenge.blogspot.com/

She means the world to me!

Well it's so true - my beautiful grandma means the absolute world to me. She is a wonderful woman!
I love this paper! Emma's Shop by Crate Paper - full of girly goodness!!
I used quite a few home made flowers here...two are Prima and the butterflies are hand made with alcohol inks on acetate..yummo!
The back paper was misted and masked and painted and sprinkled with embossing powder, edged with crackle paint and pearl dabber (acrylic) paint.

Thanks for stopping by!

Day 3...a few hiccups!

Hi!! Well it's day 3 of our 7 day mission and we have hit a few speedbumps! I totally forgot about our camping trip this weekend...oops! That may hinder the last 3 days as I don't really fancy scrapping in a camper!! Anyway ...let's just say it's on hold for now! Here is yesterday's layout anyway. It did start from a sketch but totally morphed into something completely different (as usual!).... I had a real hard time with these papers ..I love My Mind's Eye but really struggle scrapping with them for some reason! Not a fave lo but it'll pass!  Hope you like! I am going to try to get one more done before this weekend but if life takes over I hope to see you here next week! Have a great weekend!

day 2 - it's a misty kind of day!

I have been having blogging dramas so this is late.....sorry! Yesterday Karen set the challenge which was..
* Paint or Mist splatters, a cluster (she is the cluster queen!) and stitching through the alpha or title....
Here's what I came up with!

I used the gorgeous Paper Doll collection by Crate Paper (so sweet!) - the main page was painted and masked and misted and the little hearts sewn all over. The flowers were home made and the ruffle around the photo and die cut piece up the top was made from crate paper. I used lots of kindyglitz to give the page bling and the rolled flowers were made using the sizzix 3D flower die (ooh I love this die!).  I think that's about it!
Thanks for looking...be sure to come back tomorrow for the result of today's challenge!!

It's a 7 day challenge......

Hi everyone...first of all I'd like to say happy Mothers Day to all you Mums out there! I have been spoiled rotten with lots of hand made cards and cupcakes - yum!  Thanks so much too for all your lovely comments - makes my day every time!! :)

Ok Kaz and I are having another crazy 7 day challenge....one layout a day for 7 days and we each take turns with the criteria.  Lots of fun - you should try it with your scrappin buddy ...or join along with us! It was my turn today and I made it pretty simple.... must use a paper doily, a tag and some trims, ribbon/lace (this way we can also enter the challenge over at http://showusyourstuff.blogspot.com/ !)

Here is what I came up with....

Sorry about the picture quality but it is really overcast here today and I struggled to get a good shot! I used Echo Park papers and Websters Pages and Prima laces. The turquoise and pink 'circle' around the paper doily was done using a paint brush to apply glimmer mist and then lots of stitching.  Thanks for stopping by - see you tomorrow with the next challenge!!

YAY I'm half way!!

Well I am very excited that I am half way through the Blue Bazaar Bootcamp (30 layouts in 60 days) challenge! I have until the 31st May so I'm pretty much on track I think. ANYWAY..another layout to share - just for fun!
I used the new Pink Paislee Hometown Summer collection (I have been busting to use these scrumptious papers!!). The borders and 'cards' are all from the same collection too. I backed the yellow paper with some yellow felt I have had kicking around in my stash but have never been able to use...until now! The bigger red flower was a home made job and the big yellow square brad in the middle is an old one from K&Co...don't you just want to eat them...they look like chocolates! The letter template thingy (not sure what it's called ) I coloured red with Ranger Colorwash... I LOVE this stuff...it's like glimmer mist on steroids (and without the glimmer)! The colours are so intense - just awesome!

Thanks for peeking!

Wowzers - that was a hard one!!

I don't really think I knew what I was in for when I took up the white with 1 challenge yesterday...until I started! This was so difficult for me but I'm glad I stuck with it. Being limited to one colour (as well as white) pushed me to my limits but I think I am happy with how it came out in the end?! Orange is not a colour I use often and this is very 'girly' too which I don't normally attempt but who knows...could be catching and you never know until you try!

Ok there is a lot going on here but here goes .... The actual challenge was to use white and orange and scallops. The back spotty paper is Sass, and the other pattern paper is Jenni Bowlin. The corrugated cardboard has been misted, painted, inked and embossed within an inch of it's life! The paper strips are Doodlebug, flowers are Prima and the cute bright orange ones are homemade by mwa by twisting some Prima lace - very easy and effective! The medium white flower is Prima and I took the centre out and created a paper middle with cut and rolled paper with some stamens glued into the middle. Doily is Chip Chop Shop, sequins are from my stash (thanks Mum!) and alphas are Bella Chips.  The butterflies I made by stamping the image and then inking with Distress Inks and adding some glossy accents for the body then a little glitter. The ruffle is just crate paper and the scallop mat to the photo was just hand drawn and then painted and inked to get the right colour. I think that's about it - make sure you head over to http://whitewith1.blogspot.com/ and give it a go! Enjoy!

Kraft it up challenge for May!

Wow - I can't believe it is May already! My scrappin' bestie Kaz put up this great challenge for us to do and then the Kraft it up challenge was almost exactly the same so we decided to give it a go! This was really challenging!! NO PATTERN PAPER! like not even a little bit...not a smidge...not a scrap! VERY hard for me considering I am a layer junkie! I was happy with how it turned out though and glad I gave it a go to try something different! Why don't you pop over to http://kraftitup.blogspot.com/ and join in!

I used kraft cardstock and some paint, glimmer mist and fabric from my stash as a backing, added some stitching and an antique book page (distressed and aged it a bit more to match colours) then looped around some twine and placed on some leaf stickers. Doily is from (you guessed it) the Chip Chop Shop and that adorable little birdie is Websters Pages (thanks Kaz!). Little birdhouse was altered with distress inks and I added some burlap for the roof, popped on some Prima and buttons and I think that is about it!
I hope you like it!
