Scrap the Boys Feb...

A new month - so many great challenges to be inspired by! Scrap the Boys is one of my faves and was the first one I saw today so I thought why not! I have been enjoying getting messy with paints and mists and stamps lately and I found this really fun technique using sandpaper to scratch out the background of the photos... really makes the subject pop out! Love it!

One of my home-made flowers... I'm addicted to them at the moment!

 I'm keen to do a lot of challenges this month so see you back here soon!

'Let's capture these sketches' first timer!

I saw this sketch yesterday over at 'Let's capture these sketches' and thought I'd give it a go... almost the end of the month and I wanted to try a challenge site I hadn't tried yet... there are SO many great ones out there!

A few weeks ago I watched a Prima tutorial by the amazing Finnabar (thanks Min!) and it blew my mind! I couldn't wait to give it a go ... definately nowhere near the her amazing creations but we have to start somewhere right?! And it's great to try new things too! I went mad with my Shimmerz on this one - I just LOVE my Shimmerz!  Thanks for stopping by - have a great week!

Scrap the Girls Jan

Happy Friday everyone! Just sharing a quick lo today (compared to my last effort this was a super quick lo!!)....  Scrap the Girls challenge for Jan is Monochromatic... now I am usually TERRIFIED of mono layouts but I saw the challenge and had idea straight away so thought I would go for it!...

The rolled flower and the kraft coloured ones are handmade and the others are Prima and one Kaiser (I think!)

Sorry about the pics - it has been pouring, overcast and stormy for the last week and looks like the weekend isn't going to be any better! Hope it's sunny where you are (and if not what a great excuse to stay inside and scrap!)...

Daring you to Scrap January...!

Have you seen this great new challenge blog around?? Daring you to scrap has a great DT and I couldn't resist this first challenge of creating your background with scraps of paper!  Everybody seems to be in the mood for clearing out their stash and I am doing the same (wow what a big job!).. Anyway - here is what I came up with and boy oh boy it was a long difficult process.. you know the ones that just take lots of frustration (and some colourful language) along the way... the ones that you think will look ok and then when on paper look like crap and then it takes hours to fix.. and fix again... and again! Many times I was tempted to bin and start again but I think I got there in the end! ?!?!
